Pastor Mike Dann

It’s hard to adequately put into words how humbling it is to be part of the ministry team at Botsford during this milestone. The process God began in building this congregation is historic to say the least.

Our roots didn’t start in Burke County or even in Georgia. The church building plans began across the Atlantic Ocean when a young man felt a calling to leave his home country and sail to America. A 21-year-old orphan from England left not knowing what the future would be and not even sure why he was going.

Meanwhile God was beginning to move on a church family in Charleston to send out missionaries to the remote areas on the Savannah River. When the time was right the young man from England went from his newly found church home to the deep countryside. He had never preached a sermon.

God moved on the hearts of immigrants from different religious upbringings to assemble together at a meeting house in the village of New Savannah. When you stop and digest all God has done over the past 91,250 days in the life of this church - it will leave you in awe. There were twists and turns, yet God was always there.

Our Creator is a provider. Our Savior is amazing. The message of redemption is powerful. Our story is miraculous. Botsford Baptist Church has a history that’s spanned at least 79 pastors. It has stood through wars, famine, disease and uncertainty. The past is a story for the ages, but the future is now.

We continue in the same path forged long before us. We preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We strive to reach the lost and build disciples. I am so grateful to be called the pastor of this church.
